Please be reminded that these installers are only meant for WDMyCloud single drive variant (firmware V4 and above), not Mirror/EX2/EX4 as I do not have those other devices to support them.   1. I’ve installed your package for crashplan 4.2.0 and got it working. My problem is that my other crashplan installs have automatically upgraded to the newest version – 4.4.1.

    Due to the change in headless operation I am struggling to control the install on the WD box so it would be really useful to have a new distribution of crashplan at version 4.4.1. It would be even better if you could provide some instructions so that I might be able to create the package myself.

    1. I’ll try to upgrade them during my free time. There’s a discussion link on the top portion of all my app post in the WD forum on how I compiled and build all these packages. However I no longer follow that post.

        I’ve tried following the thread describing the build process for your packages unfortunately my first problem is that WD don’t seem to be providing the firmware source files any more. I just got a .bin file from the download link that they provide. I’ve raised this with thier support team but have not yet had a response.

        Secondly crashplan don’t Sen to provide source files, just an installation package how did you recomplile for the 64k pages?

        1. You can try find their older source, any older V4 will do. I no longer kept their source tar, it was quite large for my chroot dev environment so I unpacked and delete. CrashPlan is also closed source, I was referring to compiling OpenJDK and its dependencies.

          1. Ah, so if you’ve already done the hard work of compiling the OpenJDK and I’ve already installed that I guess in theory that it should just be a case of installing the new closed source crashplan package on the my cloud device. Do you think that would work?

            1. CrashPlan also requires some of its libraries to be compiled as 64K pagesize memory. libjtux and libmd5. Not sure if there’s other newer libraries in the later version.

  2. Is the server down?
    I can’t download the installer.
    I keep getting “Could not resolve host: teanazar.com”

    1. Your MyCloud seems to have issues accessing the internet? Can you see your ISP IP address below?

      1. Sorry for not answering before I didnot get a notification of your answer and havn’t been able to tedt until now.

        I cant get it to connect to the internet apparently, it didn’t resolve the host.

        1. So it’s confirm your MyCloud has issues connecting to the internet. You’ll need to solve this issue first. Post your internet issue at the WD forum or contact me personally with your DonationID if you need further assistant.

  3. For those who’s following this post, a new APP has been added to the installer, CrashPlan v4.4.1 for firmware V4. CrashPlan makes it easy to protect your digital life, so you can get back to what’s important in real life.

    Note that I’m currently having issues editing my original first post at the WD Forum.

    1. As per usual installation steps using my installer, go to the CrashPlan link (listed top of this page), click on the credential link to get the credentials. For my donors, please use your permanent donation credentials from your DonationID.

  4. For those who’s following this post, a new APP has been added to the installer, BubbleUPnP Server v0.9-update10 for firmware V4. BubbleUPnP Server provides new services, many of them running on top of your existing UPnP/DLNA devices.

        1. Yours is not DNS issue or lag issue. The installer just couldn’t validate the request.

          Is your ISP using proxy? Even transparent ones? I don’t know you’ll need to check with them. I have one user who had strange issues with network switch blocking the request. Try connecting MyCloud directly to your router if it’s currently not.

          Try again this time quickly answer [y]es to the prompts.

  6. For those who’s following this post, a new APP has been added to the installer, Syncthing v0.12.4 for firmware V4. A BTSync alternative! Install Syncthing in more than one devices to sync several folders within each, Nix, Windows, Mac and Android devices.

    1. As per usual installation steps using my installer, go to the Syncthing link (listed top of this page), click on the credential link to get the credentials. For my donors, please use your permanent donation credentials from your DonationID.

  7. Just to say thanks for all these apps… have a couple of them installed. Can’t wait for a version of Plex for WD My Cloud!

    1. No problem. But don’t have high hopes for Plex. MyCloud is not powerful enough to transcode videos. I’ve seen reports that even Mirror and EX2 struggles to run Plex.

  8. Heres a curious thing, not sure if i messed up or its an issue with the drive.

    I tried erasing stuff from the download directory, and it wont erase it, sometimes it erases the file but not the directory, and sometimes it refuses to erase compleatly.

    i tried restarting the WD and stopping the transmission daemon but no dice.

    Is it a permissions issue or should i only erase content from inside trasnmision ?

    1. Normally you should remove within transmission itself else the torrent will be left dangling in the list. Check out my recent post on the WD forum about umask permission.

        I always remove the torrent from transmision beforehand, but these are turrents i removed without removing the data file (just the torrent),

  9. Hello I keep getting this error, I tried to reload the credentials and get new ones (5 times in total), but the message is always the same. any help?

    Error-9: Unable to retrieve required files! Invalid, mismatched keys/app or already used ‘NAZAR78_KEYS=NwYF9’ detected. Retry using the permanent donation credentials from your DonationID if you have or get a new anonymous credentials from ‘http://teanazar.com/wdmycloud/’.

            1. To generate the correct anonymous credentials via the captcha, go to the page from the list of apps above. Make sure it’s the correct “APP” you wanted e.g. you want to install Transmission, you should follow the app link above, follow the instructions on that link and end up here again seeing the captcha:

              I’ve seen several successful downloads in the past few hours so there’s no issue with the installer.

              Most of the issues encountered are from the ISP, network or MyCloud itself. Just retry or contact me if you want me to take a look at your MyCloud remotely.

          1. I do not see any installer request from your IP 41.130.84.*. You should be behind proxy or something. Try use my alternate port 8245.

  10. I just updated my wd and figured I would use your app installer. I dont know if Im messing this up but ive pasted the credz into my ssh session and keep getting error 9.

    Just wondering if you can help me fix this.

    1. Note the anonymous credentials are valid only one time. You’ll need to generate a new one for every request.

      I was monitoring the installer and saw your IP 50.65.171.* attempted the request but never came back again to complete the download. Try again or contact me personally if you want me to take a look at your MyCloud.
